Tonmi, which sits quietly along Shin-Ome Kaido, is the very image of a Showa-era tonkatsu restaurant. The well-worn interior is well-kept and clean, and does not feel oily. Run by an elderly couple, the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal at your own pace.
The crispy texture and subtle sweetness are exquisite! The accompanying shredded cabbage, pickles, miso soup, and rice are all well-balanced, leaving you feeling happy after the meal.

Fried food specialty restaurant”Tonmi”.
It’s not particularly famous, nor is it close to the station, so it’s not particularly eye-catching.
But the work is done carefully.
There’s nothing particularly special about the size or presentation, but this is a place where you can enjoy the basic deliciousness of tonkatsu.
It’s very standard and basic.
A perfectly deep-fried pork cutlet with extremely thinly shredded cabbage. It’s all done with care.
Nothing fancy, just the basics…a classic classic dish.
And it’s just plain delicious.
It’s nice to be able to relax and dine at such a no-nonsense restaurant.
