A small restaurant near Tateyama Station on the JR Uchibo Line in Chiba Prefecture.

There are only tables for two or four people. There is no menu booklet, and you choose from the dishes posted on the wall.

This time, I ordered the much talked about “Exquisite Tendon.”

As rumored, the portion was generous. I immediately tried it.

Special Tendon

There are two shrimp tempura. The tempura sauce soaks in well and the tempura oil gives it a moist texture. The seasoning is just right for the rice. It’s just as delicious as usual. If the oil is properly drained, it’s fine. (It might make your stomach feel heavy…lol)

Two types of fish? Probably mackerel and horse mackerel. Vegetables: pumpkin, eggplant, and mizuna? And…

By the way, when it was served, they told me that if I couldn’t finish it, they would give me a free pack…is that what they meant?! A huge kakiage appeared! When I tried it…it was too oily, so it might be too much for people with average appetites.

Even I, who is used to large portions, was… heavy…lol

However, the amount was not a problem for a large portion hunter (note: not a large portion hunter), so I ate it all. I felt heavy afterwards, though lol

I ate it all while taking intervals with the accompanying pickles and macaroni salad. The taste was just normal.

Oh yeah, the fish soup was also delicious.

As I’ve said many times before, if only they had used less oil in the frying…it would have been even better.
