Ginger pork

A popular noodle and rice restaurant that often has a queue at lunchtime.

The last time I came here, I thoroughly enjoyed the miso eggplant rice, so this time…

Today’s daily set meal is the “Shogayaki Set Meal.” It comes with a mini ramen with either soy sauce or salt.

So, I select the salt ramen from the ticket machine. I sit at the counter.

*At this point, unrelated to the restaurant’s contents, but later, a man wearing a black coat sat next to me.

He was wearing a strong, unpleasant-smelling perfume. He had the air of a bar tout, but I had no idea who he was. However, this strong smell was extremely unpleasant. He was drinking a beer with a pleasant look on his face. I wish he’d stop wearing this unrefined perfume. It’s a nuisance to those around him.

Well, the strong, unpleasant smell coming from next to me was about to interfere with my taste, but I pulled myself together and began eating the daily set meal that was served to me.

Ginger pork set meal

First, I start with the shio ramen before it gets soggy.

The soup is clear and topped with pork slices, bamboo shoots, and spinach. It’s probably kelp stock? The ginger flavor, which seems to be a secret ingredient, is pleasant and delicious.

It pairs well with the medium-thick noodles and I finish it in no time. Since it’s a mini bowl, the soup is light, so I decide to save it for rice.

Now, it’s time to enjoy the hearty shogayaki pork.

The pork is cut into large pieces and has a firm texture that makes it very satisfying! The subtle flavor of ginger wafts through the air, and the slightly stronger saltiness means it’s not too strong and is perfect as a side dish with rice.

I wrap it in the lettuce provided and eat it with rice…I could eat it forever! Delicious.

It contains onions, carrots, chives, and wood ear mushrooms, each with a different texture that adds a variety of crunchy and chewy delights to your palate.

I quench my thirst with the remaining shio ramen broth and finish the meal in no time. I’m savoring the afterglow of the meal.

Once again, it was a great lunch. The stir-fries at this restaurant are delicious. I’m looking forward to my next visit. I think this is one of the top restaurants in Hiroo.

Oh, that’s right. I also like the fact that the cold water pitcher comes with sliced lemons, so I can reset my mouth with a refreshing splash of water.
